DID YOU KNOW STRESS IS?

In life, everyone experiences some form of stress at one time or the other. Because stress can unfavorably affect our health, it is wise to identify the changes early and develop a plan to manage them. The way one deals with anxiety will determine the long term effects in his body. Therefore it is wise to decide on the cause or causes of the stressors and apply the necessary remedies to alleviate the ill effects of such stress.

It is said that stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. This can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, or nervous. It must be noted that not all stress in life is negative; some pressure can be positive, such as avoiding danger or meeting deadlines.

Unfortunately, stress can trigger many medical conditions, including psychological disorders such as depression and anxiety.

When anyone is frequently under stress, one can experience physical symptoms like headaches, upset stomach, high blood pressure, chest pain, and a problem with sex and sleep. Stress can also lead to emotional issues such as depression, panic attacks, or other forms of anxiety and worry.

Although it is difficult to avoid stress, it must be known that long term stress will do much damage to the body. In many cases, it leads to chronic diseases, and it can be said that chronic diseases bring on anxiety.

  1. Keep a positive attitude
  2. Accept that these are events that you can avoid or control.
  3. Learn and practice relaxation techniques; try meditation, yoga, singing, and poetry writing.
  4. Exercise regularly
  5. Eat a healthy and well-balanced diet daily.
  6. Learn to manage your time effectively. Make time for hobbies
  7. Get enough rest and sleep. Seek treatment when necessary.
  8. Set limits appropriately.
  9. Set achievable goals
  10. Fororgive quickly
  11. Pray always.
  12. Keep a song in your heart and on your lips.
